Block diagram of TactoLogic Systems
TactoLogic currently manufactures the following three-axial tactile sensor arrays:
- TactoPoint 1x1 - the smallest, single-element 3D force sensor
- TactoFlex 2x2 - a small three-axial device for finger-mounted applications
- TactoPad 2x2 - a general purpose, small three-axial array
- TactoPad 8x8 - a genaral purpose, large three-axial array (under development)
All devices come with
TactoLogic Masterboard,
the read-out circuitry, and
TactoSoft, a professional
data acquisition and analysis software, constructed especially for the
purpose of three-axial tactile data handling.
TactoPoint 1x1

arrangement with two sensors on the sides
TactoPoint 1x1 is our smallest and most sensitive contact-force measuring unit,
consisting of a single three-axial taxel.
The three-axial signal provides the possibility for basic dynamic,
spatial-temporal tactile measurements,
while the extremely tiny size (1x2 mm sensor chip size) makes this device
perfect for sensitive tactile measurements at remote places
where a finger can not reach.
TactoPoint is available in many different application-specific forms,
e.g. on a catheter or endoscope tip or on a small flexible support.

TactoFlex 2x2

TactoFlex 2x2 on a flexible PCB
TactoFlex 2x2 is a small three-axial sensor array on a flexible support,
designed for finger-mounted applications.
TactoFlex 2x2 provides reliable 6 DOF data from the contact between
an arbitrary object and one's fingertip.
Due to its small size and comfortable fit
this prototype can be useful in medical applications, particularly in tele-surgery,
or for educational purposes in physical diagnostics,
but could also be used e.g. in virtual reality applications.

TactoPad 2x2

TactoPad 2x2 is a general, small, contact-force mapping system,
consisting of four (2x2) three-axial taxels in an array.
The three-axial signals of the four taxels provide the possibility for
basic 6 DOF, dynamic, spatial-temporal tactile measurements on arbitrary objects.
The small outlook (3x3 mm active area, 4x18x36 mm total size) makes this device
ideal for arbitrary robot-hand mounted applications aimed at precise object handling.

TactoPad 8x8

TactoPad 8x8 - the "big brother" of TactoPad 2x2
TactoPad 8x8, the "big brother" of
TactoPad 2x2
is a general contact-force mapping system,
consisting of 8x8 three-axial taxels in an array.
The high spatial resolution and the large element number of the array
results in uniquely fine, three-channel tactile images of objects and textures
from a fingertip-sized area.
TactoPad 8x8 is best suited for, but not restricted to tactile applications on robotic arms
under industrial or scientific conditions.
